Toons These Days: My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic
by Alex on November 14, 2011 at 1:11 amCars 2 isn’t that bad. It’s better than the original Cars in that it’s more fast paced fun and adventure, but the first one had a better story, and more importantly had more heart.
Cars 2 suffers from a story that gets a little hard to follow, scenes with a lot of talking that’s not really fun to listen to, that I notice had kids very restless in the theaters, and worst of all, was close to ruining my suspension of disbelief. I kept thinking how cool it would be if this film featured humans or animals engaged in espionage as opposed to cars. If people were wondering how a world could function when everyone are cars in the first one, they would definetly question it here.
All in all, it’s one of, if not the weakest Pixar film to date, and I’m really hoping next year’s Brave will get Pixar back on track.
This strip isn’t very funny, and I apologize. I’m finding it more difficult to tell jokes these days. I considering format changes….
Powerpuff Girls – action + 1.5 more cute + slapstick= the new My Little Pony show.
When it comes down to it, the show isn’t bad like the ones from the 80′s. It helps that the person running the show also worked on Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends.
New episodes air on The Hub.
I’m one of the few people that didn’t mind the humans in the Transformers series (though I’m not as big as a fan of the franchise as others), but I can see why people would. Miko has so far been the most annoying and useless character in the show, and is bringing down on what’s actually an entertaining show.
The 5-part mini series Transformers Prime, concludes today on The Hub.
The series starts on February 2011.
Mad, the new series based on the magazine, airs new episodes on Mondays on Cartoon Network.
Also check out the new series, Regular Show.
Saw Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. The lead character along with Ramona aren’t the most likable characters, and the film gets pretty cheesy in terms of the dialogue, but it still manages to be one of the best movies I’ve seen this summer, with intense action, and great comedic elements. It feels like a comic book and video game came to life in a way many people have failed to do before.
I never read the graphic novel it was based on before, but I definitely will now!
